It's brought new life to my tired locks with an incredible shine. It's too soon to see if it's going to help with my breakage issues but it's cured my lifeless sad lack of shine problems so that's a HUGE WIN! woohoo!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had high hopes for this product as Matrix is a well known salon brand and I have used their products in the past however this was my first time using the Instacure Build A Bond line. I have medium length color treated hair that I would say at the time was pretty damaged. The shampoo comes in a colorful and bright bottle that is clearly marked with the major ingredients Citric Acid and Squalane. I do not recall ever seeing citric acid as a notable ingredient in hair care before so was curious to see how it worked out. One thing I did note was the warning about sunlight and a possible interaction with citric acid. The smell and appearance is pleasant and it lathered well and rinsed out well. I didn't notice anything different about my hair while in the shower, it felt as it always has. I continued use for roughly 3 weeks and my hair didn't noticeably change for better or worse.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I realized quickly that this shampoo would be tough for already dry hair, or probably even highly textured hair, because my 1c/2a hair felt immediately zapped upon use, but when used in conjunction with the heavy conditioner it evened out. My hair was left full and soft, not flat or greasy! :)

I'm usually willing to try anything and everything to help prevent breakage and preserve the hair that I have left. I really like this formula for the shampoo. It has a really great lather and smell to it. I haven't really noticed a difference in the amount of breakage I am experiencing but I will keep using it hoping for good results.

I used it for a few weeks and while I cannot share any long-term results yet, overall I am quite impressed. I have very fine, wavy hair and I usually struggle with finding a good shampoo that doesn't make my hair fall. Shampoo is easy to distribute through my hair and it left it feeling clean and super soft, which is a big plus for me. The hydration it provides is fantastic; my hair feels incredibly soft and nourished without any greasiness. It is not scent-free, but the scent is pleasent and not overpowering. It is hard to find a good shampoo/conditioner combo that won't make my hair greasy or look flat, or make it crazy frizzy. I started washing my hair with this right away and saw a huge difference right away. My hair feels and looks softer and fuller than ever. In fact my mom started using it and her hair has never looked better. The scent is light and clean.. it doesn't tangle your hair in knots.. very good product and will definitely be buying it again.

I have tried masks and oils and with no luck, kept on looking for other products that would restore my hair. I was very excited to try this Instacure Build a bond shampoo from Matrix. I've heard of The Matrix brand for years, nothing but great reviews. After the second use, I could definitely feel and see the difference. My hair is more manageable, shiny, there is more movement to it. As I continue to use it, I definitely do see a change in my hair. Definitely recommend and definitely will be buying a long with the conditioner. 10/10

I do have split ends, more from constant tight hair styles, dry hair and not trimming regularly. I don't really use heat. My hair has been dry and looking rough, after using these two products after a while I did notice a difference. My hair isn't as frizzy, fluffy. It feels better , you could touch and feel it was dry the ends would be horrible. Does it remove the split ends no because I didn't properly cut them all off. But there has been an improvement to my hair and it's a product I will buy in the future. It smells amazing and a little went a long way for me. My hair is up to my back and thin.

The smell on this is a very floral, light smell. The texture on this shampoo is very thick, which for me is always important to show the good quality of the product. I have long hair and would often lose lots of hair, due to my thick long hair and texture. After a few days of using this, I noticed a significant reduction in the amount of hair falling out and just how soft it was to comb through, even when I just had used the shampoo on its own and no conditioner. You really don't need much to get a good lather and enough to cover my whole head. I love this shampoo, I'm almost out and will definitely be purchasing this again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a free sample and thought the description sounded perfect for me color-treated, dry, damaged, very straight hair. I live in South Florida so it is very humid and I'm constantly in the sun and/or water (salt and chlorinated) so I was hoping this shampoo would bring my dry/damaged hair back to life. It does a great job cleaning and produces a very luxurious lather which I love. I use a lot of product and swim often so it does a great job at cleaning my strands. I also found it prevents frizz, holds up well in humidity, smooths, gives me great volume which I very much need and somewhat moisturizes. However, I did think it fell flat on moisturizing factor, especially given it is supposed to soften hair and reinforce damaged ends. I still find, even after the Instacure conditioner, that I am lacking the 'bond' and moisture it promises. I am still left with dry, damaged ends that after a few days of no wash, they start to look like straw. I did have to follow my Instacure haircare routine with heavy oil or leave-in conditioner on my ends. However, A++ on lather, cleaning without stripping, softening and giving my hair some much needed volume. I will continue to use it but I think I need something with more heavy duty moisturizers.

I took 1 star off for the smell though. It's not a fruity or sweet scent that you often smell in other shampoo; it smells like some minty herbal scent trying to mask a faint hair product (like a hair dye kind of product) smell. It's not that bad, but scent is important to me for shampoo. But if you don't care about how a shampoo smells and only about how it performs, this is a great product.
