Works well and is affordable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After a few uses for this shampoo I like how my hair looks with a good volume and shine, the shampoo cleanses the scalp without making it feels over dry, it it works specifically for thick dry or wavy hair, it makes a really good job and it cost less than others salon brands also it smells great.

Have used this shampoo religiously for more than 10 years, but the new formula is absolutely awful. It smells horrific, does not lather, and does not make my hair feel clean. Please bring back the original formula.

New formula is not good

I have used this shampoo for years but the change in formula is awful. The shampoo is thick and yellow. It does not lather well and leave a residue feeling on my scalp. My hair is not easy to comb through. I will return it and try something else. :(

Great smell but didn’t feel like it did much

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It lathers well and it did leave my hair not so dry/coarse-feeling after rinsing. I can’t speak on how it feels on the scalp since I have seborrheic dermatitis so I didn’t apply it on the scalp. I honestly didn’t feel like it did much for my hair other than it wasn’t as drying as most shampoos are but imo I can always follow up with a good conditioner to really counteract the dryness.

Fresh not Frizzy

The shampoo lathers great with just a small amount, and smells wonderful too. It rinses easily and I am able to go a couple days without washing it again because it leaves the hair feeling fresh and less products is needed for frizz.

It smells amazing (this whole line does) and I'm fairly confident this bottle is going to last me a while. I don't know if it has any true effect on calming any frizz, however.

A favorite RUINED by STRONG PERFUME!

The new scent is STRONG . If you like the scent you may enjoy the product but save yourself complaints and ask before using this on a client. I for one wont put that scent on myself again or use it on a client without them smelling it first. I have been using Matrix Mega Sleek for over ten years and the lightly scented original was not an issue for clients who favor products that are unscented or at least subtle. Now the perfume is a deal breaker. I have had good results from Matrix Mega Sleek for over ten years but now I will need to find a replacement. You have ruined one of my favorite products!

Having been using this shampoo for years! I hate the new formula-leaves my hair feeling sticky and difficult to comb through . The smell is also displeasing. Reminds me of a big box store type product not one of salon quality Please switch it back !

I had been struggling lately with my dry scalp it would get very flaky and I have tried many things to fix it but this shampoo is a game changer it hydrates my hair very well which has prevented my scalp from flaking the shampoo also smells so good it smells very fresh and clean but also sweet which I really enjoy. I would definitely recommend overall but especially if you are struggling with a dry scalp as I have noticed a tremendous difference.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was pretty pumped to try this matrix shampoo.Despite the horrible, bright orange color of the bottle (and really the rest of the bottle design is horrible too--so many fonts and colors and directions). Plus the bottles are printed different directions. They get half a point for having the conditioner be the bottle that opens upside down so it doesn't pour out when you flip the lid, because it's a thicker product, I'll give them that, but since the design of the bottle is not really the most important thing here, I do love the shampoo. It smells absolutely glorious. It's a smooth clean shampoo despite not having any sulfates. it rinses so easily and quickly, and a little goes a long way so this bottle will last a really long time. Plus there is an entire system with a conditioner and masque so you can make sure all your products are working together!

I’ve tried so many different products that didn’t help tame my frizz, especially in this South Carolina Lowcountry heat and humidity. It’s hydrating and conditioning by itself. Whenever I color my hair myself, I’ll shampoo 3 times to make sure the color has rinsed out and then let air dry for a few hours so my hair can really absorb whatever product I use next. Just the shampoo really conditions, detangles and hydrates while it cleanses the oil and product buildup.

So fresh and so clean

I have the worst dry, frizzy and unruly hair! I've tried so many different shampoos!! Hands down, this Matrix Mega Sleek is the absolute best! It truly keeps my hair frizz free (in most weather conditions) soft, and shiny!!! May not work for everyone, but definitely I get amazing results! At least give it a try! You won't be disappointed!

I have wavy hair that can sometimes feel tangled and dry, even in the shower. Unlike many other shampoos, this one actually seemed to hydrated my entire head of hair like a conditioner! Hair was smooth and shiny after. Im now a convert to Matrix but will need to buy a bigger bottle next time as this size wont last long enough.

Great Shampoo for Tangle Prone Hair

The scent on top of it is really good and not too strong. It does a great job at cleaning but the only thing I didn’t like was how flimsy the bottle was. I dropped it once and the top flew off so now I can’t close it. Besides that, I love the product inside!
