Totally amazed! I'm a natural brunette and kept using purple shampoo to bring out my salon highlights. I just kept getting more and more brassy. One use of Brass Off shampoo and mask and my results are AMAZING!!! I never give reviews but this is worth recommending!!

Takes away the brassiness

This is hands down one of my favorite purple shampoos for when I get my hair done just to get rid of that ugly brassiness that I get after a fresh blonde treatment. Matrix so far is the only brand I purchase that always gets most of that brassiness out of my hair and for the amount you get in each bottle you can’t go wrong. All in all you don’t have to use a lot of this shampoo to get the desired look taken care of so my bottle usually last me a few months before having to repurchase so in my opinion the price is totally justified. I highly recommend this shampoo over any other brand

I'm so sad. This product is meant for brunettes with orange tones that they'd like to neutralise. For example brunettes who've boxed dyed their hair brown and there are ginger warm tones left behind (like myself). Knowing a little bit about colour theory, I know that purple shampoo is for blondes, wanting to get rid of the yellow tones. Blue shampoo is for orange tones. This shampoo is just completely purple. There's nothing blue about it. Therefore it won't work on my hair at all because i'm not blonde. I have orange/red undertones from old box dye, and purple shampoo doesn't neutralise the colour orange. You can't write blue shampoo on the front of the bottle if it's literally just another purple shampoo. This forumla needs to improve, there are other blue shampoos on the market so it is possible to add blue dyes instead of purple. *Photos of my hair are before use, to demonstrate the orange tones that blue shampoo should neutralise*

I was hopeless, after the hairdresser used - without asking, a chocolate brown glossing on my natural ash-middle blond hair. After 8 weeks now it was not washed out as he promised. NO! Instead my hair was getting more and more orange- as i was affraid of anyway!
After one single use now- look at the results!

Doesn’t work

I’ve washed and conditioned my hair 3 times in the past two weeks with Brass Off shampoo/conditioner and the orange and brassy tint remains. I even left the shampoo in for several minutes. Very disappointing and a waste of money. I have not one star because it smells nice.

So I actually bought this product today and when I got into the shower and I just finished it into my hand I wasn't expecting purple shampoo but that's what came out I'm just confused is this normal for everybody is the blue shampoo supposed to come out purple it did absolutely nothing for my brassiness

Better than my go to shampoo!

I just bought this today and I already love it. It smells amazing, makes my hair softer than when i use my normal shampoo, and totally takes the brassy color out. Can’t wait to see its full potential over time. I took before and after pictures and although the before is dirty oily hair and the after is freshly blown out you can totally see the difference in color!

Be gone brassiness

I have seen stuff for blonds but this is the first time I’ve seen something for brunettes. The only drawback is the color is quite blue so be sure to watch where you wash your hair and clean up after yourself when your done. This does a great job of taking the brass tones out of your hair especially for those of us who have hard water.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shampoo is perfect for keeping my ombre looking non-brassy and salon fresh. It could leave your hair a little purple if you don’t wash it out well enough. It’s also not as hydrating however paired with the condition and they are the perfect combo! This isn’t a miracle overnight, but you can see the difference it makes on the first wash. It was after wash #3 that my brassy hair was about 90% gone.

I proved one of the girls in my salon was lying to customers by switching products between bottles into Matrix bottles, only to charge way more money for her services....as do most salons today, unfortunately. I bought a new bottle of Matrix Brass Off and offered to show employees and customers the results. After following directions the results were horrifying to say in the least...Not only was my hair showing more brassiness than at least 3 shades of tone from the start, my hair was noticeably weighted down and dry. A Husk deep conditioning purple pack followed by Shimmering Lights Shampoo and Conditioner did the trick and restored my hairs beautiful tones after two treatments. Needless to say the girl knows we are all on to her switching products and is only a matter of time before she is dismissed or quits from her chair. Horrible product, Matrix...horrible.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When using the shampoo it’s recommended to only leave in your hair for 3 to 5 minutes since I’m times we think that he leave it a longer it will have a different effect but the shampoo is strong enough to only use for the recommended time you will be happy with the results after… You will see all the warmth come out of your hair… In the first picture you see more of an orangey brassy look in the second picture you see a cool blonde versus a warm blonde and just like that toned hair!

I was afraid I’d end up with purple strands, which has happened with other brands. But- I was pleasantly surprised by the whole line. The shampoo feels a little drying but the conditioner and toning spray are moisturizing. I would get this again. It is a little staining in the shower though.

Not suited for my hair

It left my hair flat and limp and feeling more cottony than silky. It did help preserve my color (not a natural blond), but I cannot recommend for people with my hair type.

Super Clean

While using this shampoo I've also noticed my hair is very clean, and I mean clean. I feel like it removed all the residue I have had from products that caused my color to be dull. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shampoo looks like it would be blue, great for if your hair is more orange (purple shampoo is only for yellow tones.) Unfortunately this is fairly purple still, leaving the warm tones behind.
Next, even though this is enough to almost stain my hands, it’s takes almost daily use to see any real help on my hair.
Lastly, this contains silicone which destroys my hair. Sad that such a high end brand still relies on silicones.
