What It Is

•   Our 1st Pre-Bonded Color System
•   Pre-Bonded: Our exclusive Bond-Protecting Concentrate protects the inner hair structure—so you can maintain the integrity of the hair, color after color.
•   Pre-Blended: Our formulas are Pre-Blended with background + reflect—so you can neutralize every underlying pigment.
•   Pre-Paired: Our permanent and demi-permanent oxidative dyes are perfectly matched—so you can achieve seamless, root-to-tip color, that lasts and fades on tone.
•   Cera-Oil is still in the SoColor Sync + SoColor formulas.
•   Our exclusive Bond-Protecting Concentrate protects the inner hair structure—so you can maintain the integrity of the hair, color after color.

What It Does

•   Bond-protecting concentrate is composed of a unique blend of taurine and cationic polymers
•   The linear network of positive charges binds to negatively charged areas of damage in the hair in order to reinforce and repair the weakened bonds within the sensitized cortex
•   Pre-blended backgrounds are optimally calibrated with warm & cool dyes for a true-to-tone neutral background
•   Saturated reflect in addition to Pre-Blended neutral background allow our color to be true-to-tone on every level, every base and every undertone
•   Our permanent and demi-permanent oxidative dyes are perfectly matched so you can achieve seamless, root-to-tip color that lasts and fades on tone
•   There is no need for a step 2 since the Pre-Bonded technology is already integrated into SoColor and SoColor Sync
•   Best for color refreshes and neutralizing services.

What Else You Need to Know

•   Hair fiber is up to 37% more conditioned vs. before coloration
•   Lasting conditioning
•   Lasting color
•   FCS Certified Cartons
•   100% Post-Consumer Recycled Plastic Caps
•   No Cellophane
•   The plant that products or formulas obtains 58% of its power from renewable energy based on a plant in Montreal, Canada
•   The plant that produces our formulas has reduced water consumption by 37% since 2005. Based on plant in Montreal, Canada

Used to be good

I agree that the formula changed for the worst. I used Matrix Socolor for 15 years and when the formula was changed the color no longer lifts the way it did. 9G was perfect with 40 Dev but now it is just no good.

this product has changed for the worst this year

I used to love Socolor, until the past year. You have changed the formula, and ruined it, just like you ruined your Matrix Sleek Look shampoo and conditioner over the past 15 years. Why do you ruin your products, and make them substandard? I have used the 5G Socolor since 2019, and it had a great golden dark brown color, and covered all of my gray. Now, it has a red tint to it, and it leaves my roots looking like Pippi Longstocking red!! It is also making my scalp itch, which it did not from 2019 to 2023....during that time, I had no complaints. And, it also fades really fast, like a semi-permanent dye now. Matrix does not care about their customers at all. Please change the formula back to the way it was.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Love Matrix

I've used matrix for years, so after a 2-year break I'm getting back into the business. This is a question. What base is "pearl", as like 11P? I'm going back to the salon after a 2-year break.

I love my Matrix line, but....

I love my matrix line but you keep discounting color line and not replacing it with something we can mix to get the color! Like 507C! or the GV lines. Finally get a picky client color figured out and now there is now way to make it or get it to the exact. Do I need to switch to a different line since you keep taking away?

No, I do not recommend this product.

I loved the color insider no ammonia permanent color!!! I was very disappointed that it is discontinued. I tried coil color and it is not a replacement for color insider. I love the no ammonia as it is gentle and the color lasted!! I will be searching for another line of hair color. sorry to say.

Great product, but a couple gripes!

I had to switch color lines after 40 years. Ouch. I chose SoColor due to some small previous experience with it, the similarity in use (mixing ratio, predictable level system etc) and the fact that a few of my colleagues use it and could answer some questions made it seem like the best choice. It was a good decision! I wish I would have done it years ago! The availability of so many base tones to choose from makes me feel like when I went from the 24 count box of crayons to the 96 count box as a kid! One of my biggest fears was that "total grey coverage" would leave the hair flat looking, with no highlights, but, so far so good. It also has better color retention/ less fading. My only gripe is the lack of available education for new users. I'd like to learn more about the different collections (Dream age, etc) The high lift blondes, what the + symbol after level and base means, etc. Just a basic introductory YouTube video would be nice. Also, where is 3VR?! I have formulated it into some of my brunettes and we love it. Now I'm out and I can't find it!!

Yes, I recommend this product.
